Course Overview

A prime example of Rees Jones at his very best, rolling terrain and scenic landscapes comprise the 473-acre site. Multiple tee positions and generous driving and landing areas reveal that Huntsville is a course ideally suited for all those who love the game. "What golfers will enjoy at Huntsville is the beauty of the site and the way that the holes fit the land so perfectly," says Rees Jones. "This course will reward excellent shot making, yet it will not overly penalize a poorly played shot."

Hole 1

Overview

The opening hole is a 518-yard par 5 with a bunker guarding the right side. This reachable par 5 for longer hitters has a green guarded on the right by a long deep bunker. The very wide green could leave you with an extremely long putt.

Hole 2

Overview

Rated by Golf Digest as one of the top 500 Holes in the World, this relatively short dogleg left par 4 features a 125-foot drop in elevation. The second shot to this well bunkered green with a short to mid-iron requires accuracy and distance control.

Hole 3

Overview

The par 3 third hole is a medium length hole with the obvious trouble of a large bunker well below the green level.

Hole 4

Overview

Carrying the wetland on the tee shot is necessary on this relatively short dogleg right par 4 hole. The second shot to this wide but undulating green requires a precision play.

Hole 5

Overview

A 200-yard par 3 that features a long serpentine bunker along the right side and below the putting surface and a deep green requires proper club selection for a possible birdie.

Hole 6

Overview

The number one handicap hole on the golf course, this very demanding long uphill par 4 to an elevated and undulating green will test every element of your game.

Hole 7

Overview

This 429-yard par 4 demands a tee shot aimed at the silos behind the green to avoid the bunkers that are relatively flat, but progressively deeper as you approach the greens. Large deep bunkers on both sides protect the green.

Hole 8

Overview

This 450-yard par 4 is a sharp dogleg right with bunkers guarding the right side and plays to a small, well protected green. The green features a large hump in the center, creating many interesting pin positions.

Hole 9

Overview

The par 5 ninth hole gives the long hitters a chance to carry the very large bunker guarding the left side of the fairway. Playing to the green requires pinpoint accuracy because of the very deep bunkers on both sides of the green.

Hole 10

Overview

This slight dogleg left 418-yard par 4 offers ample room for your tee shot. The second shot plays to a large green protected on both sides by deep bunkers. Club selection is critical because anything long or left is trouble.

Hole 11

Overview

The 448-yard par 4 eleventh takes up 19 acres and provides the ultimate risk/reward opportunity, as a fairway, divided by a White Pine, a stonewall and a huge bunker offers alternative routes to a heavily guarded, elevated green. This is a very demanding hole.

Hole 12

Overview

The par 5 twelfth plays 532 yards along a serpentine bunker to a green flanked in front by a lake and surrounded by bunkers. The green features a large bowl that catches any shots coming into it.

Hole 13

Overview

The par 4 thirteenth plays down a roller coaster fairway that opens up long views of farmland to the east. Up toward the green on this hole is a natural spring well surrounded by an old stonewall.

Hole 14

Overview

Players have several options on this 502-yard, par 5, which allows longer hitters to have a go for the green in two from the right side but provides a much safer route down the left side. A large undulating green forces you to be in the proper area for a shot at making birdie.

Hole 15

Overview

This lengthy par 3 offers enough room for a low-running shot, while those who opt to fly the ball in must avoid an overhanging tree to the right and a bunker to the left.

Hole 16

Overview

This 391-yard par 4 appears modest, but demands a tee shot in the fairway. The three-tier green requires proper club selection to get close to the hole.

Hole 17

Overview

This very picturesque, medium length, downhill par 3 may appear simple at first. However, if you fail to hit the green, making par requires some skilled shot making.

Hole 18

Overview

The finishing hole is a 456-yard par 4. The fairway is guarded on the left by a bunker and a hill on the right that may be helpful in getting the ball in the fairway. The second shot is long and demanding to a small, undulating green.
